Name: Emma Larsson
Study programme: Biotechnology, KTH
Role in iGEM team: Wetlab research
Fun fact: I am super stubborn and easily scared, but don’t get any ideas now!!
If Emma would be a type of candy, she would definitely be the kind that is hard on the outside, yet super soft on the inside. She is a very stubborn person, but it is easy to touch her heart. One of the best things that she knows are baby trees! “Like, imagine baby oaks for example, they’re just soo cute!!” – Yes Emma, I just started imagining small baby trees, and I just love it!
Emma is calmness personified, and she does not usually stress herself in everyday activities. She always takes time to listen to people! She’s just like a sloth – pretty slow (in a good way!), got her priorities straight, and she likes chilling – although maybe not doing it upside down? Her perfect destination would however be floating around in a deep sea, looking at sparkling fish, turtles and chorals! I could see her sitting at a remote beach somewhere (maybe hanging in a tree?) eating ice cream and just take it easy. She would need to eat the ice cream quick in the hot weather, since she really doesn’t like melted ice cream!
However, I’ve seen the dark side (oh yes – I have), and that side usually comes forth when she hasn’t gotten her daily coffee. Just like you wouldn’t want to come in between Gollum and his pursuit for the one ring, you would not want to come in between Emma and her coffee!
Being almost finished with her bachelor’s in biotechnology, she wanted to do something within the lines of iGEM. She longed for being a part of a motivated group of people, since that makes her happy – and you also get to make a difference in the world!
Thank you for being a part of this year’s iGEM Stockholm team, baby groot!
