Name: Marit Möller
Study programme: Medical Biotechnology, KTH
Role in iGEM team: Wetlab research
Fun fact: I can sleep almost instantly anywhere I want!
If you want to have a good chat and a laugh or just talk about science stuff, you should go to this girl! Marit lives by a very simple yet important philosophy – that everything becomes as fun as you make it or let it be. And therefore, she is always cheerful and keeps up her interest in different things! What doesn’t make her as cheerful though is unnecessary drama, and when people are wearing those smart trekking clothes that German people use a lot – it is a stereotype of Germans that is (unfortunately she thinks) true!
Marit loves travelling, and Italy is one of her favorite destinations thanks to the delicious food. However, most of all she would like to travel in time! “I would travel to all the places I've been so far through all the centuries, just to see what it was like. And of course, I would also travel to the future before I die, to see how it all turns out.”
But she also likes to take it easy and travelling can make you really tired sometimes. She envies some animals like polar bears, being active in spring and summer. They eat as much as they can before they go to sleep for all of winter. Wouldn’t that be nice!? But she is lucky in the sense that she can fall asleep anywhere she wants.
Marit wanted to join iGEM Stockholm because she wanted experience in designing a project from scratch and to be a part of every step of the way! iGEM is a learning experience different from university, which made her interested in pursuing the challenge - and we are happy that she did!
Thanks for being a part of this year’s iGEM Stockholm team, Marit Mc. Fly!
